The holidays are a great time to give your baby gifts, and there are so many options. Whether you want to get toys that will help develop their motor skills or just something fun for them to play with, the following list of toys is sure to delight any 1-year-old.
Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair
The Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair is a great toy for 1 year old. It has different stages of learning, from babies to toddlers and even preschoolers. This chair also comes with songs and melodies that are educational for your child. You can remove the seat when you want to use it as a floor chair as well!
The Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair has three modes: learning mode, music mode, and dance mode. In learning mode, there are six buttons on the front that introduce numbers and letters through fun animations and sounds like “ba” or “da” accompanied by corresponding lights on the top part of the seat which makes it easy for your child to understand what they need to do next in order to get something new out of this toy!
In music mode, there are four more buttons where you can choose between different songs such as ABC songs or Wheels on The Bus, etc… while dancing with your kid because let’s face it – who doesn’t love dancing with their kids?
Bright Starts Bounce Bounce Baby
This is the perfect toy for babies who are just learning to sit up or stand. The bright colors, cheerful music, and lights will have your child intrigued and entertained. The easy-to-use button allows it to be played with one hand while you’re doing something else like making dinner or putting laundry away.
The bounce pad is removable so you can use this as a floor toy when your baby is a bit older and has mastered sitting up on their own. It also has volume control so you can turn down the sounds if they’re too loud for them!
All in all, this is an excellent buy at under $70–and when it comes down to it, isn’t that what Christmas should be about?
Lamaze Freddie The Firefly
Freddie the Firefly is a great toy for your one-year-old to play with with tea sets. Freddie has been around forever and will be familiar to many parents, but this particular tea set is specifically designed to teach cause and effect in an educational way that’s perfect for little ones.
As they pour water into his cup and watch as it flows down over his wings, they’ll learn about what happens when you pour liquids from one container into another. They’ll also be engaged by Freddie’s motions as he moves his wings around during each pour. It’s important for young children to have toys that encourage learning through play—this toy does just that!
- Safe for baby.
- Easy to clean.
- Easy to use (for parents).
- Fun for the baby.
- Durable enough that it won’t be destroyed by teething, but not so hard that you can’t find the pieces if your toddler is playing with it.
Fisher-Price Little People Sit ‘n Stand Skyway
This is a great toy that helps develop motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and social skills. It also helps with language skills because it encourages your baby to talk or use sign language to communicate with you. This toy can be played with either by an older sibling or the one-year-old child on their own. It is easy for them to learn how to stand up on their own and walk around the room with this toy!
The First Years Stack Up Cups
If you have a child who loves to stack things, then these stackable cups are the perfect toy for them. The First Years Stack Up Cups are great for teaching your baby hand-eye coordination and even color matching. There are 4 different cups that all have their own unique color and shape. Your little ones will learn about shapes as they play with these fun cups! They also teach counting skills by showing how many of each cup there is in a stack.
The best part about these stacking cups is how easy they are for babies to use! You can set up your own little obstacle course where each cup has its own spot on top of the others so that when it comes time for them to knock them down (or take them off), they know what order they need to do it in because there’s only one way each piece can fit together properly before falling over into another spot on top of this tower which makes sense because sometimes I think my brain works just like this too so if anyone knows what’s wrong with me please let me know!!
VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Treasure Mountain Train Adventure
The VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels Treasure Mountain Train Adventure is an interactive toy that promotes motor skills, problem-solving and imaginative play. It’s a fully functioning train with a working crane, elevator, mine, and tunnel. The child can push the train around or use his imagination to create scenarios for the fun blocks on top of the mountain. This toy is one of many in the VTech Go! Go! Smart Wheels range has won several awards including “Toy of the Year” and “Educational Toy Retailers Association Award”.
Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Rock-a-Stack
This toy is a great way to help your baby learn to stack, sort, match, and take turns. It’s also a great way to help teach your baby about following directions.
Your little one will love matching the shapes with the holes on top of the stacker! The friendly-looking animals are soft for cuddling. This toy has 4 different stacking rings that interlock in different ways allowing for endless combinations and creative playtime fun! This toy provides many opportunities for you and your child to interact while they learn through play. It encourages eye-hand coordination as well as the development of fine motor skills. The Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Rock-a-Stack comes with 8 colorful plastic pieces: four triangle-shaped blocks that fit into each other, two square-shaped blocks that fit into each other on both sides (with different colored dots), one curved piece with 6 holes in it that fits over all of them, and one round disc covered with bristles which helps clean off any food crumbs stuck underneath while they play their game of stacking or sorting pieces together afterward!
Melissa and Doug Wooden Building Blocks Set
Melissa and Doug’s wooden building blocks set is a great toy for 1 year old. This classic toy will be enjoyed by your child for many years to come, as they learn to build, stack, balance, and much more! The Melissa & Doug wood construction set includes 16 pieces that are made from sustainable materials. So you can rest easy knowing that your child will not only have fun with this toy but also be safe using it.
SKLZ Bounce Back Pitching Trainer
The SKLZ Bounce Ball Pitching Trainer is a great toy for any young baseball fan. This pitching machine teaches kids how to throw and catch, improve hand-eye coordination and aim, and even develop accuracy. The lightweight foam ball is soft enough that it doesn’t hurt even when you get hit with it but hard enough that it won’t bounce off the ground too easily once it lands. With the adjustable speed settings on this toy, you can teach your little one how to pitch different speeds at different distances so they get used to all types of pitches before they start playing on a team or anywhere else where they might have a chance at throwing balls around!
Lamaze Play and Grow Tilly Twinklewings Takeaway
Tilly Twinklewings is a cute toy that is great for babies. Tilly has a rattle ball under her wings that can be pulled out and shaken, making music as it hits the wooden body of the toy. She also has bright colors and a fun ribbon bow on her head. This little lady comes with a little pouch to put her in when you are done playing with her—and she even comes with two extra rattles so you can change them up as your child gets older!
This is one of our favorite toys from Lamaze because it’s both fun and educational; we love how well-made this toy seems to be, too!
We hope you found this list of toys for 1 year old useful, and it didn’t overwhelm you with too many options! If we had to pick just one toy to buy our grandchild right now, we’d go with the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Chair. It has so many great features that will keep your child both entertained and learning, and it won’t break the bank either.
